Beautiful, meditative, gentle, and somber piano music for your loved one’s funeral or memorial service, with no religious undertones. Allow me to mourn with you and bring in a spirit of release through live piano music.

My set list is mostly by my favorite composter—the contemporary French composer, Yann Tiersen.

While my music set is secular, I am happy to perform for any type of funeral service, of any religious or spiritual viewpoint.

Chat with me and discuss what you have in mind

By default, I expect to provide intro music for 45-60 minutes while the service is set up and people enter, and outro music for another 45-60 minutes at the end of the memorial service.

I can also provide music during a viewing, or provide a musical number during the service, upon request.

Let know know your vision and I’ll try to accommodate it.

My set list is approximately 90 minutes long. If I complete it, I’ll just repeat it. I usually read off sheet music as I play.

Terms:

  • Please schedule at least 4 days in advance.
  • A working piano must be provided by the venue or client.
  • I take payment in cash, check, Venmo, and Paypal.
  • I take payment upon my arrival at your venue, or at time of booking.
  • I’ll provide my own transport to and from the event.

I like to bring and light a small candle while I play in these mournful settings. Let me know if this is unacceptable to your venue.

About Avery:

I am a nonbinary musician based in the Utah Valley Area. They/them pronouns are preferred. I was taught classical piano by my late grandmother Edith and have played for 26 years now. While I served as my LDS congregation’s organist for three years during high school, I am now deeply spiritual but nonreligious and openly queer. I still appreciate the power of music to bring peace and emotional release during hard times, and I still desire to serve my community through music.
